At our Our Safer City launch event, Susan Bright, CEO of Employers’ Initiative on Domestic Abuse, spoke about how domestic abuse is a workplace issue and what employers can do to help. She shared some of the shocking statistics around domestic abuse, including that 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime and how this impacts the workplace.
Susan emphasized EIDA’s vision that every employer takes effective action on domestic abuse; currently, their members collectively employ over 25% of the UK workforce.
She outlined how EIDA helps employers develop a workplace response, with resources, events, and the latest guidance. She encouraged all UK employers to join EIDA because domestic abuse is all our business.
