LONDON, 2 September 2026 – Happily, Ever After, a true-life stage production written by Amita Fearon, has confirmed Our Safer City as its exclusive sponsor ahead of its premiere at The Cockpit Theatre, Marylebone, on 20th and 21st January 2027.
The play is Amita Fearon’s own story, adapted for stage by Tony Hyland MBE and Rolake Adesina, and directed by Adesina. Hyland is an award-winning playwright whose MBE recognises his work championing communities affected by domestic abuse, homelessness and neurodiversity, themes that sit close to the heart of this production. Adesina, Artistic Director of Scene-opsis Productions, was named Best Female Director at the 2026 Tokyo Film and Screenplay Awards. The production stars Tanu Ravi, whose screen credits include The Umbrella Academy, Kim’s Convenience and October Faction.
The production follows one woman’s experience of domestic abuse and the journey beyond it, and does not shy away from what that reality looks like.
Each performance will be followed by “Beyond the Curtain,” a post-show panel discussion bringing together survivors, campaigners, and specialists in the domestic abuse sector to explore themes raised in the production, including recognising abuse before it looks like abuse, and why people continue to fall through the gaps despite improved language and policy.
Our Safer City, a partnership initiative focused on preventing violence against women and girls (VAWG) and tackling domestic abuse across the City of London, is proud to support a production that speaks so directly to the issues it works to prevent every day.
