Our Safer City Progress Report 2024

Our Safer City initiative is making significant progress in enhancing safety across the City. In partnership with Greene King, we are piloting 11 of their venues as Safe Havens, with a total of 26 now available. Staff at these locations are being trained through WAVE and Ask for Angela, ensuring they are equipped to assist vulnerable individuals. This training will also be integrated into Greene King’s internal processes to maintain consistency and support during staff turnover.

On June 11, 2024, we’ll be launching 1 Lombard Street as a prominent Safe Haven, marking an important milestone. This event will also celebrate our strengthened partnership with the Safer Business Network and Vigilant, which will help expand the number of Safe Havens and improve training efforts. Additionally, we aim to boost the use of the Safe Haven App, ensuring more people can easily access these support services.

Looking ahead, we plan to train over 300 people and establish 12 new Safe Havens. With positive feedback from our training programs showing a 21% increase in learner confidence, we’re confident that these efforts are making a tangible difference. Together, we are creating a safer, more connected city for everyone.
