Perception Surveys and Intelligence Analysis
Collecting insights to drive targeted interventions
As part of our commitment to understanding violence against women and girls, we conduct comprehensive annual surveys. These surveys are a cornerstone of our twelve key initiatives, designed to inform and refine our strategic approach.
Insights
Gathering data on safety experiences, awareness, and environmental perceptions.
Trends
Identifying new areas of concern and changes over time.
Action
Providing evidence-based insights to shape interventions and policies.
How do we carry out our surveys?
We systematically collect data through an online questionnaire with consistent year-on-year questioning to track changes. The survey covers areas such as personal safety experiences, awareness of support initiatives, perceived safety in different environments, training and legislative awareness, and specific concerns across different demographic groups. By maintaining a rigorous and consistent survey approach, we ensure our interventions remain responsive, targeted, and effective.
Intelligence analysis
The Oxford Partnership supports our initiative with data analytics and insights which map the hotspots and areas of focus. They collate people’s movements and flows throughout the City along with crime data, together with locations of licenced
establishments. This is then added to the results of our Perception Surveys to create a map of the issues and where we and our partners need to focus our efforts.
